Health Surveillance

Health surveillance refers to the ongoing monitoring of employees' health to identify and manage potential risks

Health surveillance refers to the ongoing monitoring of employees’ health to identify and manage potential risks caused by their work or workplace environment.

This process involves regular assessments to detect early signs of work-related health issues. It’s typically used when a worker is exposed to possible hazards such as noise, dust, chemicals or vibration.

Health surveillance may include medical examinations, health assessments and the monitoring of exposure to hazardous substances. Health and Safety law requires health surveillance when your workers remain exposed to health risks even after you have put controls in place.
